Testimonial: Cat and Colby On Location for Tess C.'s Wedding
“Cat and Colby were absolutely INCREDIBLE. One thing that was very important to me (the bride) was that our makeup looked natural and not overdone or showy - Cat and Colby highlighted our features perfectly and truly made us feel beautiful inside and out. I had 7 bridesmaids plus my mother and the mother of the groom - Cat and Colby had a schedule and they stayed on time for every single person. They had an enormous palette so the girls all had PLENTY of choices for blush, lip color, etc. I truly cannot say enough positive things about Maryelle artistry! Maryelle herself was in touch with me throughout the whole process leading up to my wedding and was always incredibly prompt with her responses. I HIGHLY recommend Maryelle Artistry!!”

Here is what Marlo Fogelman of Marlo Marketing had to say about working with artist, Jennifer Viveiros of Maryelle Artistry on this shoot for Boston Common Magazine.
"I hired Maryelle Artistry on the recommendation of a photographer friend for a photo shoot. The makeup artist, Jennifer, showed up on time, was a complete professional, and achieved the very natural look I desired. The article just recently came out, and I have already gotten numerous compliments on my makeup in the photo. Would definitely recommend and use again.”

Dark undereye circles getting you down?
Here are some quick tips from one of our pro artists, Kelly Ford, on how to cover those difficult dark circles!
Kelly recommends using color correctors, and here’s how:
Step 1: Start with a clean and moisturized face
Step 2: Apply an under eye cream. Let this set for approximately 3-5 minutes.
Step 3: Using a rounded, firm, yet soft makeup brush, apply IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Corrector. This is applied from the inner to outer corner and down to where the bottom of the eye socket meets the upper cheekbone.
Step 4: Using your ring finger apply IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer OR Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (She finds that both work equally as well and whichever you use, you will find that a little product goes a long way). Lightly tap this into the skin until it is absorbed.
Step 5: Using the same brush used for the corrector, apply Laura Mercier's Secret Brightening Powder to the area.
Step 6: Sit back and smile, it's that easy!
Sharon on location with Logan Lerman
Sharon Holston, a talented makeup artist from our team, recently worked with Logan Lerman. Logan is one of the stars from the Percy Jackson series, Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Stuck in Love. He has played a variety of memorable characters, and continues to leave a lasting impression with every movie he appears in. In less than 10 days his newest movie, Indignation, will be released in theaters. This drama, based on the novel by Philip Roth, is centered around a young Jewish student named Marcus, who is struggling with socializing and the ongoing Korean War. Splash into summer with our favorite waterproof products!!
Have fun this summer, and be playful and confident in the sun and sea with the best waterproof products. These are our artists' all-time favorites picks!!
Best Mascaras:
Tarte Lights, Camera, Action Mascara
"It makes the littlest lashes so voluminous without looking clumpy!" -Catherine Norton
Loreal Voluminous Carbon Black Waterproof Mascara
"It's inexpensive, easy to get a hold of, builds volume beautifully without clumping, doesn't flake, it's super black, and it stays on all day" -Jennifer Viveiros
DHC Perfect Pro Double Protection Mascara
This beautiful product is water resistant, not water proof, but it is definitely worth sharing!
"The brush is super thin, and gets right at the roots of your lashes! It gives great length and separation, and it's also tubular so it doesn't smudge or flake off." -Jenner Kennedy
Long Lasting Liners:
Aqua XL Liner by Makeup Forever
"Extremely pigmented, glides on easy, and doesn't budge!" -Kristen Poulin
Kristen recommends using the Sephora Collection waterproof eye makeup remover for this invincible eyeliner.
"This liner is perfect for tight-lining the lashes and making them appear fuller, and also for creating a beautiful, waterproof wing! Once it's on, it is not going anywhere! The product does set very fast, so it helps to work in sections." -Maryelle O'Rourke
Invincible Lip Products:
These stains aren't technically waterproof, but Colby raves about these lip stains for their staying power.
"The formula is a smooth, creamy consistency, that never dries, flakes, or coagulates throughout the day. The product is buildable, so you can opt for a sheer coat, or layer to create full, rich pigment. Not only does it look fabulous, it also contains mango extract that hydrates the lips and gives it a naturally fresh fragrance." -Colby Correnti
Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks
"Although they are not marketed as waterproof, they truly are one of the most long wearing lip products on the market." Our artist, Megan Buttry, also suggested a little tip for matte, long wearing lip colors. "Make sure to hydrate the lips at night, as these particular products can sometimes appear dry on the lips."
Beach Proof Brows:
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
"Brows are such a big thing right now. The Dipbrow is an extremely reliable product in terms of being very waterproof. A little bit goes a long way, and it is best applied in short, hair-like strokes. I like warming up the product on the back of my hand before applying it to the face." -Megan Buttry
Now that you know some of the best makeup product to use, how do you remove them? We all know how important it is to remove all your makeup every evening but sometimes figuring out what to use is a big mystery, especially if you have acne prone skin or sensitive skin. Check out Best Makeup Removers for Acne Prone Skin for some great products, their benefits and what others had to say about these products!!

The Final Edits: Travel made easy... Roll with Hartmann
Travel made easy...Roll with Hartmann
June 21, 2016
We are so excited to have become part of Hartmann's history!! We worked with them on this shoot for the release of their Gliders, the stylish new luggage on wheels! Read on to learn more about this incredible company's impressive history.
Since it was originally founded in 1877 by Joseph S. Hartmann, a Bavarian trunkmaker, Hartmann luggage has been defined by its excellence. That was the goal of the company right from the start. In Mr. Hartmann's words, he wanted to build "luggage so fine it will stand as a symbol of excellence". This company has certainly achieved its goal. Their products are always ahead of the game with their consistent and elegant improvements. In the 1940s, Hartmann developed the lightweight but durable basswood frame for his luggage. During the 60s, he created his first line of luggage for women. Hartmann later hired fashion designers Halston and Gloria Vanderbilt to join his team and create incredibly fashionable luggage during the 80s. And now today, a few years after celebrating their 125th anniversary, they released the Gliders, beautiful luggage on wheels. To learn more about their rich history, check out their website here.

Greenroom with Joseph Gordon Levitt... and his incredible wife!
Just yesterday I worked with Joseph Gordon Levitt!! He was so interesting to talk to, and he’s actually someone you can connect with yourself if you're feeling a little creative!
He created the community Hit Record. As he put it, it's a new kind of online community working together as a production company. This is something that you can get involved with!
It's filled with collaborative projects where YOU can add your ideas, whether it be scripts, character designs, or animations. The opportunities are endless, and the final products are always so stunning because of all the people involved. Learning all about Hit Record with Joseph was so fantastic because it truly is one of a kind. It's such a unique way to produce a huge variety of projects, and if you want to get involved, you can check it out here!
While Joseph was on stage, I hung out with his wife, Tasha. Joseph may be fantastic, but wait till you hear about this amazing woman!
Tasha is so intelligent, having attended both Bard College and University of Southern California. I was surprised to learn that she is a robotics scientist, and has taught classes on robotics and artificial intelligence at Singularity University in California. Lets not forget she is also the co-founder of Fellow Robots, a company that creates robots for retail, travel, and personal assistance. It's crazy how beautiful and smart she is! I’m so happy I got to meet the two of them, as I am incredibly impressed with all the work they have done and are doing!
Guess Who
We had so much fun on our 2-day shoot with Michael Indresano and his team. But who were we shooting with... We'll let you know with our big reveal, coming up soon! Can you guess who?

Protect Your Beautiful Skin!!
Here are the hard facts you should know:
Using sun protection helps prevent your skin from aging, keeping you looking younger, longer! It also prevents the development of skin discoloration such as sun spots. Most importantly, it significantly decreases your chances of getting skin cancer. Let's not forget getting sun burnt, nobody wants that either!
What is SPF?
An SPF of 15 will allow you to remain in the sun without damaging your skin 15 times longer than you would be able to if you were to wear no protection. The FDA recommends using an SPF of at least 15, and reapplying every 2 hours because the product can move around, sink into your pores, or wipe off. For most, an SPF of 15 to 30 should be all you need, unless you have incredibly sensitive skin. SPF isn't only found in skin products, but in lip balms, too. Don't forget your beautiful lips!
Chemical vs. Physical:
Chemical sunscreens act as an absorber to harmful rays, and prevent them from causing any damage to your skin, whereas physical sunblock provides just as much protection, but by reflecting the rays instead. Physical sunblock sits on the surface of the skin and can wipe away much easier making it less ideal for going swimming. Chemical sunscreens would be a better bet for a day at the beach! Which ever one you use really depends on your preference and the sunny situation you're in!
Some of my favorite sun protection products are Coppertone Sport SPF 15, Cerave Sunscreen SPF 50, Fresh Lip Color SPF 15, and Blistex Soft and Lush SPF 15!
And then there's always the option of hiding under the beautiful trees!
It’s all about the right colors, angles and shapes!
