Wedding Day Makeup & Hair Preparation Tips
The wedding day is almost here!! Maryelle Artistry (www.maryelleartistry.com) is the beauty team that will be helping to make you the most beautiful version of yourself. This information is a guideline to help you prepare for your beauty services so we can provide you with the best services possible.
Location and requirements: Please remember all SERVICE LOCATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ARTISTS: A single location (exp: bride's hotel room) for the work area ("Set Up"), including a table and chair, needs to be made available to the artists at the location. The Setup must also have ample lighting, whether natural light or lamps. This is necessary for services to be performed properly.
* NOTE TO BRIDE: If the stylist has already given you instructions on preparing for your wedding day, please continue to follow those instructions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Come with a clean (makeup-free), freshly washed, and lightly exfoliated face/skin. Use the products from your typical skincare routine.
If you usually hydrate your skin after cleansing, then use a light layer of your moisturizer (again, use the product you typically use) all over your face, neck, and décolleté.
If you have sensitive skin and would like us to use your products, bring them with you, and we will be happy to use them.

YOU MUST ARRIVE WITH COMPLETELY DRY HAIR UNLESS BOOKED FOR A BLOWOUT ONLY.
Remember to bring your hair accessories/veil with you.
If you have STRAIGHT/WAVY HAIR: Wash and blow dry your hair using little to no products the night before or the morning of your wedding if you have time for it to dry (must come with hair COMPLETELY DRY unless you booked for a blowout only) and use a flat iron to tame any frizz.
If you have CURLY HAIR: If your hair is curly and you would like the artist to work with your natural texture (recommended especially in humid environments), use your favorite products for your curls and give your hair enough time to dry naturally (or use a diffuser and your fingers ) before your appointment with your stylist. You must come with your hair completely dry unless you are scheduled for a blowout only.
If you have extra long (past the middle of your back) or thick hair (you know who you are), let us know in advance just in case we need to add extra time to your appointment slot.
If you are having a BLOWOUT: Arrive with clean, damp hair, free of any products, unless otherwise instructed by our team. All blowout services need to be booked in advance and written on the schedule.
Please note that if you have a booking for a blowout and would like to add a hair design or updo service, this is considered an additional service and requires advance booking and a two-hour time slot to accommodate both services.
Tips for all services

Wear a top/shirt with a wide stretchy neckline, a button-down shirt, or a robe so you will not ruin your makeup or hair design.
We will bring all the products you need, but if you have a favorite product that you love or allergies, we are happy to use your products.
We suggest you purchase a few products to have on hand for the big day! Blotting papers to absorb oil that may develop on the surface of your skin in the T-zone area, translucent powder to reset your makeup and smooth any visible pores, and your favorite lip color for fresh application after dinner.
Knowing what makeup and hair designs you like are just as important as knowing what looks you don't like. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and Pinterest is full of inspirational makeup and hairstyle images. Bring those images with you and a picture of your dress so the artist can get a sense of the complete look.
Most importantly, relax and enjoy your services, your family, your friends, and the celebration!
Arrival Info: Remember it is necessary to arrive with your hair clean (washed the night before or the morning of) and completely dry, and ready to be styled. Your time slot has been dedicated to you, so please arrive on time so you have the full scheduled time. If you arrive with damp hair, we will need to ask you to completely dry your hair before sitting for your dry style time slot. If you arrive late, we will do our best with the remainder of your time slot.
Steaming your Dress: Please steam your dress/ clothing before your hair and makeup services. Steam is extremely damaging as it will alter the structure of your hairstyle (exp: straightened hair will curl/frizz, and curled hair will go limp/frizz) and breaks down your makeup and its longevity.
Tips for long-lasting makeup
